Initiated by her observation of shadows reflected upon the ground, the artist spent many months experimenting with a method to convey objects in two dimensions on canvas. In this way, the selected subject is transformed into an image of itself. This is especially true for living things or objects that die, such as fruit or human beings. Alexa's painting style has an ephemeral quality, and the only thing that remains of Alexa Meade's work is her photo. Photography and painting are tightly connected to form a flat two-dimensional surface that is trompe l'oeil. In certain places, the three-dimensional space can be visible, like close to the eyes or in the hair. Meade is also able to integrate her models painted by Meade into the 3D space that surrounds them. Their interaction and this created world is possible. It eliminates any distinction between photography, painting, and installation.
